Fife Fuchsia Society

On the 4th of September 1986, George Wood, Scottish Representative to the British Fuchsia Society, circulated a letter asking that any one interested in forming/joining a new Fuchsia Society in Fife should attend a meeting in Kinghorn church hall on 24th September 1986.

At a further meeting, at the same venue on 1st December 1986, a committee was elected and the Fife Fuchsia Society was born.

Society Profile

The objects of the Society are to encourage the cultivation of Fuchsias in all possible ways and to hold shows and Exhibitions of Fuchsias. To co-operate with other Societies pursuing the same objectives.

The meetings are held in the Lomond Centre, Woodside, Glenrothes ---on the third Tuesday of the month at 7.30 p.m. -- with the exception of  January, July and December   We usually  have a guest speaker, and any person interested in the cultivation of fuchsias is cordially invited to attend the meetings.

Members also visit other shows and societies. We inform members of current updates and events through a quarterly News Letter. This is one of the many tasks undertaken by Bob Gourlay, who has been publishing and printing this very informative News Letter since March 1992.

We are affiliated to

  • The British Fuchsia Society--- Scotland

  • Federation of Scottish Fuchsia Societies

  • Royal Caledonian Horticulture Society
