2005 Show in conjunction with The East of Scotland Begonia Society

Held at the Rothes Halls Glenrothes on Sat.20^th Aug.

This year for the first time it was decided to have a joint show at the Rothes Halls with the Begonia Society, the aim being to share the cost and hopefully put on a good display.

The display was excellent even although the number of entrants was down on last year. Number of exhibitors -- 19, Total number of plants -- 104. There was no entries in classes   2b, 11, 13, 16, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 31.

The cutting competition added 6 plants to the bench plus 2 not in the show, the cutivar being David Jason

The show overall was a success although some minor refinements are required, i.e., more direction signs etc. (the venue is excellent). Financially we nearly covered ourselves on the day of the show but when we added the cost of engraving and some minor items we still run  at a loss, in saying that we managed to cut our deficit by £55 which is a step in the right direction.

.Conclusion

The show was a success and is definitely worth another go next year.
